So this isn't directly SG related (although I did take a pic with the SG), I got a pal for my SG Standard... a '17 Gibson Les Paul Classic. So far, they are getting along wonderfully :D

I love the plain top too. For some reason it just seems more rock and roll to me vs the pretty high gloss flame. Congrats!

Fan of that plaintop, too. Congrats...

That's a crazy looking guitar on top of that Kenwood speaker... :wow:

I assumed I was weird for being a plaintop person... seems there are more of us than I thought. I've been GASing over a 50s tribute with P90s since they came out (2013 and 2014)... They have nice plain tops on the burst version...

That's the stuff right there!

DISCLAIMER: The Les Paul you just got is still giving me GAS

WOW That things awesome! I agree that plain tops are where it's at with Les Pauls. I had a new Vintage Burst plain top in 1990 but sold it stupidly. I've got my eye on this Lemon Burst but I don't actually get on with the Les Pauls ergonomics :-(

I've never understood the obsession with flame/quilt/highly figured maple tops. Plain maple on a les paul or PRS gets me all choked up every time.

JUST ordered a chip and pickup covers :)

Ohh good! I dont have to give you crap for uncovered pickups!

I guess I'll never be a Les Paul guy, I never knew there was such a thing as a "plain" top! I did know there was gold, black, and burst finishes.

What baffles me is they want 1539 for a 2018 sg standard t yet only 1699 for the lemon burst les paul standard. they really jacked up the sg price eh?

Yeah plain tops are awesome! My original decision between that model and the classic! I just happen to fall in love with the classic.

Another plain top fan here. Congrats on the cool new guitar.
Do these still come with the hot cermaic humbuckers like they did a few years back or has the spec changed there too? I note they no longer come with fluorescent snot green inlays, which is a plus! :D

Beautiful Lester, they're not really plain tops, they have nice grain, they're just not fancy tops. Sorry, but I prefer my bursts cover less and pickguard less, totally naked (blush). Always like the LP Classic.
