    interesting

using a direct cable connection to my router

this one is using the wireless

the upload speeds have dramatically increased over three times from the roadrunner normal speed. they are not affected by going wireless. the download speed as not quite triple the normal speed but you can see the difference of wired vs wireless. holy smoke!

i guess when i am downloading i will have to go plug in to take full advantage

so for $10 a month more this is definitely worth it. pages do load noticeably faster than before and they were pretty quick then

UPDATE: I upgraded my wireless card to an N (from ABG) and now my wireless speed matches the cabled speed!! YES!

I dont know Phil, i presume it must be!

All i do know for sure is that the test shows my internet is possibly THE worst in the history of the internet itself ;D

Just to check.... the "download" is how fast i can pull stuff off a site yes? its not the other way round for some reason is it? Doesnt it depend on how fast that site can send stuff to you and THAT is the real speed.. like having a 600BHP Engine in your car and driving at 30 in a 30 limit :D

all the links in the chain affect it

yes download speed is how fast you can pull data to you

its all about the size of the pipeline (bandwidth). bigger is better.

i think of it as data being water in a tank. the larger the drain pipe, the faster the water flows out.
