anyone know what the stoptail on a 91 sg special is made of?
I'd say more than likely "Zamak".
Nah, that's a more recent thing, since like 2011.
Zamak zinc alloy is what replaced aluminum stopbars in the early '60s.
Many people just call it zinc, but it's always been a pot-metal alloy.
You sure about that @PermissionToLand ? If not Zamak/Zinc, then what then?

This is the spec sheet for my ‘91 SG Special. It doesn’t specify the material.

Pot metal. Don't try to smoke it.
Calaham makes cold rolled steel bridge and tailpiece. I put a Calaham bridge on my Strat. Greatly enhanced the sustain. Some like this, Some don't.
