Calm down people, it's no big deal. Nothing changes when you register and if this is what it takes to keep the riff - raff out than so be it.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....................I wonder what Wags is still doing here then  :funny:

I'd miss.. me. And all the cool, smart people too.

I think my cousin has one of them fancy ISP emails... I'm sure he'll let me use his to change it. Or maybe my uncle next door... well, I have two weeks, that's plenty of time.

Hey RT, do what you can.

Ask your internet provider if the account
can have more than one email account.

I know VERIZON does that, so do others..........

Don't most mail apps allow more than one mailbox?

This means you just need to put another name before the @.

Remind the person ( friend, relative, bartender, dealer, priest, Chief of Police etc. ) whose account it is that it'll only be used to activate your ETSG account, and nothing more.

www.aol.com ... trust me that they have free email accounts now ...

Give it a try. My only problem is that I don't think you can forward notifications from there.

    I don't get it......

To get here, you have to have internet service.

With that internet service should come at least ONE email account.

If it's your parent's account, just tell them you're a member
of a guitar forum and there will be an activation email coming.

If you're doing this on the sly and your parents don't approve of you
being part of an internet forum, MAYBE you can SHOW them what this
place is all about and talk about it. Once they see that we try to make
this place "family friendly" they won't mind you being here.

If they don't approve and it's their internet account and your under age,
maybe you shouldn't be here? Talk to your folks!

The AOL thing is up in the air right now. Since they are issuing Free email accounts they might fall under the list.

Folks, I have been getting lots of PMs about this. Many of them talk about how they don't know their password because they never use the account, or they may have an account but they are not sure.

The staff here has put in countless hours over the past year dealing with problems that some of these new rules may alleviate. What I'm hearing is that being on this forum is fine as long as you don't have to spend a single minute doing anything that requires some effort.

If being here is important to you, then is it important enough to do a little footwork and try and resolve this issue?

    Good point.
Is there a way that you can make it that only new accounts should have a paid for ISP address ?

The thing is I have 2 emails. One is hotmail that is for all message boards and downloads and internet browsing and consequently it is bombarded with spam. The other one is subscription and I only use it for my personal and business mail and it remains spam-free. I'm not willing to break that rule so unless I can get an AOL mailbox I guess I will be shut out.

There's no reason for you to get spam, if ETSG don't send you any or sell your address.

Both highly unlikely I would think, but I'm sure a Mod will be able to confirm.
