SG GigbagCASE.jpg Its such a secure and lovely leather case, but with only ONE shoulder strap.
For me it really gives an unpleasent odd balance , so I bought another brand, with 2 straps.
Do you have any advise for solution to keep the original ?

Call Gibson customer service and ask to purchase a second strap. They've been really helpful when I've dealt with them.

    Thanks Bob .
Its the actual design . We can´t just buy one more strap.
I think I have to get some answers from those who experienced same problem with that bad design , and if they have a way to solve it , keeping the guitar case.
Im sorry that I can´t use it.

I have one too. I use it to lean my guitar facing against the wall without scratching it. I don’t trust it to lay flat or sideways. I paid $1,600.00 for a new Standard and got a Chinese plastic golf bag.
I’ll probably complain about it until I fork out $200.00 more for a real case.
On the bright side, I really like the guitar.

SG GigbagCASE.jpg Here it is as big picture.. Its more of a leather gigbag, but it feels very solid to me. But then again the one-strap doesn´t balance

It’s hooked on the wrong side. Hook it to the D-ring closest to the handle.

Thanks, I tried both rings. Same or worse problem.

Yea, it’s a silly design. I guess they couldn’t afford 2 straps on their Chinese plastic bags.

    Thanks for the answers Decadent.
I guess everybody else here prefer a hardcase, so they won´t bother to get into this , lol

It's a shoulder carry strap, not a back carry strap. Poor design choice on their part.

Yes , thats a bummer. I was looking foreward to have an easy carying with my very low weight SG guitar.
The unbalancing design sliding down the shoulder, gave me more shoulder trouble, than with my semi-heavy strat.

I'd rather not sound harsh but THROW the POS in the garbage and get a Hard Shell Case.
The Gag-Bag will not protect your guitar and you will be sad if it gets snapped in half the day before you bought a HSCase. You should be able to get an Epi G-400 HSCase in good shape for $50-$75 ! Hit it with some spray paint to cover the Epi logo and you're set !

The Gibson Gig Bag actually looks pretty decent to me as Gig Bags go. It was designed with one strap to be carried over the left or right shoulder, as many others are. Some come with two straps, which I think is what you are looking for. Hard Shell cases are nice, and a must (IMHO) if you spend much time on the road. If you are just using it for storage, or doing moderate amounts of travel (going to lessons, practice, studio, or Jam sessions) where you control the instruments treatment and how it gets loaded and stowed, a gig bag can be just fine. Most people I know carry their gig bag over one shoulder, even when they have a two strap bag. From my experience Gibson's bag probably caters to how most will use it. Most of course is not all... but nothing is going to suit everyone equally.

I knew a guy who carried his guitar every day wrapped in a blanket, tied with string. I offered him a spare case I had laying around one day, and he politely declined. He was using what he preferred, though I can't imagine why. That's alright though, it was his preference, and there's the end of it.

If you like what you have, you're good to go. If you want something different, well, you know by now what to do! :D
