There was a recent discussion about how we see everybody's gear, but never hear that gear. This thread is dedicated to hearing your gear. Post a clip of what you got:
- new pedal
- new amp
- new tubes
- new strings
- a great sounding capacitor (oh yes, I went there)
- and of course, guitars and basses and anything else that makes up our audible musical gear.

I will get things rolling in post # 2

I present you with an A/B game. Play if you dare. The first 2 clips are my attempt at lead. The second 2 clips are some chords. Lead was played on the neck pups and chords were played on the bridge pups (I sort of did that backward, but whatever). One is a Gibson R6 (1956 Historic Reissue VOS). The other is an Epi SG G-400 Pro modded and set up by me with Tom Anderson PH1 and PH3 pups. So, which is which?

Not going to hazard which is which. That said, I definitely prefer "B" - especially in the chorded portion. In the "lead" portion, "B" sounds a little twangier than I like, but you can always pull that back, whereas "A" sounds a bit choked, especially in the highs. The "B" articulates individual notes better to my ears.

Perhaps later, I'm watching the Olympics while dinking around on the Kindle. I'd at least want give it my full attention, which considering beach volleyball is on now, ain't gonna happen.

The second ones sound like TA P90s to my dodgy ear. &, it also sounds like you've got a bit of reverb/echo going on.

The necks both sound good, but neither of the bridges sound quite right; the first one a tad 'dead', the second one a tad 'harsh'? Could the second bridge be lowered a tad? Anyways, I think the second one is the SG, but I can't pick a vintage jazz bass v an SG, so... :D

2014 Gibson Melody Maker LP P90S, the ones with slugs. Bridge installed in my extra cheapo First Act. Flex neck ...

Not a clue what guitar was played.
I don't remember, I don't recall,
I got no memory of anything at all ...

No external sound card, just the cheap PC installed. Crappy sound.

I listened a few times, I liked the first lead and the second set of chords. Not being an expert I'm not going to hazard a guess, but I know what I like.

Maybe I should deny that ?
No Sir. You are an Artist and that is a bold statement. I am rather certain that the only thing you have ever blown up is a canvas!
