DFLCC, My friend said,

"My thoughts? Perhaps the best overall combo amp money can buy. There is nothing more versatile and arguably no better value anywhere, not to mention the build quality. And the power level is at the sweet-spot and switchable.

They just released a Mark 5:25 combo, with a G-10 Creamback speaker, and I can't wait to check it out. Could be the best grab-and-go amp ever."

I REALLY loved my 5:25. So much so that I now run a V90 90% of the time.

Great amp for barroom blues. Fits great in a four or five piece group. Just match the drummer's volume and you'll cut right through the mix.

They will NOT bark like a Marshall
Bark? Shouldn't that end in an "f"? Seriously, I find Marshalls to be the least versatile amps made. Dimed or they sound like spit with an "h".

I find my DSL40C is extremely versatile at all volumes, at least after a speaker swap. Glassy, sparkly cleans, deep, throaty crunch, and tight high gain tones.

Ironically enough I tend to agree with you on all the other DSL models except the 1-watt combo. You either want the 1 or the 40, everything between is severely compromised, especially at home volume levels.

I get the Bark thing now. The Mesa Boogie Mark V 35 seems to be different to its predecessors because instead of 6L6s it actually uses EL84s. I guess I need to try it because I have not gotten anything bad but the cost of replacing all the glass when the time comes. I need to get hands on it. Thanks all for your input.
