    Hello all,
I'm a recent member and each time I try to post a pic no matter what the pic is I get a file too large msg. I post pictures frequently on this sites sister sites with no trouble. What gives?
    Thanks,
    T-Rey

Try re-sizing the largest dimension to 1000 pixels or less.

What sort of size are you trying to post? Ideal for this site would be about 750 pixels wide. If yours are straight out of a camera, they are probably about 5000 wide, which is far too big.

I've never tried nor do I know how to resize pics for posting. If someone could give me a brief description of how it would be greatly appreciated! I'm an Android user.

There are loads of resizing apps in Playstore.

i used too , but if you keep the file size to no larger than 560k you'll be good :) , and u can flick the "full size button" :)

I open the photo, hit edit, then hit crop. It will put the photo in a smaller box. Then just screenshot that and crop it before save. It will be a smaller size. That’s on iPhone but the process might be similar without getting another app.

A JPeg 'Optimizer' will do the trick. I have found that about 50% of the pixels have to be taken out of most of the pics I have posted here on this web-site....BUT, sadly, sometimes that doesn't even work.
It is pretty aggravating as pics of Guitars being discussed need to be posted here. I know thats pretty obvious, but given that fact I figure whoever own the site might realize this and do something about the annoyance? It took me months to get a picture into this site.
Sometimes the only device that works in getting a picture on the site is an I-Pad Mini.

Don't think about kBytes. Just make the pic fit the space. This picture is 750 x 500 pixels, and is about perfect for our needs here. Much more important than big, make it well focussed and clear.
