Correct me if I'm wrong here, but won't all these lovely pictures we have all posted go away if we lose our picture hosting, such as Photobucket? This stuff needs to be permanent, or this board will suffer in the future.

ESS you piehole! how could you draw sharpie all over those nice guitars?!?

Hehehe... that's gorgeous man... I really liked #31 wherever it came from.

And this also confirmed what kind of tuners that guy gave to me way back when.. Looks like I got a few sets of 60's LP Jrs.

Are you trying to cover the whole gibson line or just tuners from SGs? I have a small box of full sets that the guy I mentioned before sold me real cheap. I'll keep my eye on this thread and try to ID some of 'em.

Well, this place can go from wonderfully informative (photos), to just a giant text file in a heart beat and that worries me. :(

One thing a lot of those pics dont show is the front.

    Here's why its important...

If you have a covered tuner - like the old Kluson, its really not so much better than the uncovered ones... it has a post with ring gear, a plate, and a worm gear. The ones with the threaded bushings are far far superior. These are made much like the Grover or Schaller. The problem with the plate/press-bushing tuners is the alignment when assembling. Even very minor error will tend to amplify and tolorance issues with the post and they way the ring gear mates with the worm gear. When the tuner has a cast lower plate with long threaded boss and threaded bushing, then the alignment is totally assured, the result is that even with the same general tolorance, the tuner feels and acts totally smooth and fluid.

And... those D shaped cast housings are Gibson marked Schallers. Cool!

I need a set of pics 1 to 3's - just have to look the same - don't haveto be vintage :-(

Anyone got a spare set? Anyone busted up their LP or SG recently? Even fire/flood/armageddon damaged ones would be good!
