Alden Hollow Body Guitar | eBay

Alden guitars are the result of a collaboration between UK guitar guru Alan Entwhistle and a leading guitar company. Alan has been involved in guitar design since the early 60s and his wealth of experience is showcased perfectly in the Alden range. Alden guitars are inspired by classic instruments of the last 5 decades though thanks to Alan’s creative design input none could be even remotely described as copies. All feature top quality hardware, Entwhistle designed pickups, premium materials, and superb construction supervised by the man himself!

Came across one stateside here......NOT much info on them at all......its either cool and rare for good reason----or BAD--

Any info? Anyone seen one played one own one???? I ask U.K. specific because the most info I can find is on the ebay-u.k. site. (above )
Thanks!

Not from the UK, but I have had an Alden. Sold it awhile back. But I did have the one below.

It was a Bluesline. The Alden BlLues Line Abilone, Shell top, Flower top and Metal tops are copies of the 70s Zemaitis Guitars. There are two Abalone covered models, the blue, like one I had, and a two tone Grey and pearl.

The Abalone top had each piece hand cut and installed. There is a wide MOP binding on the entire guitar. On the headstock, both the logo and dragon design as well as a 2nd very thin binding were all Mother of Pearl

In fact, fit and finish is top notch across the board. Except some of the gaps between abalone pieces were not uniform. Back was a dark red stain with a belly scarf.

The Locking tuners were Schaller copies. But they are really well made. Seem like 18:1 ratio.

The pickups were okay. Current, new Epiphone pickups, Probuckers are better. Kind of caliber of Duncan Designed.

Never relly bonded with it, traded it for a Vox guitar (later sold). Part of that was a thinner, flatter neck I didn't like so much.

Enjoy my friend.

I have looked all over the web....facebook anywhere. These seem like high end Korean and Chinese based guitars with Mr. Entwhistles pups in them..By all (though few) accounts these are solid well made and excellent sounding instruments.
I am hoping to snag one within the next week or so. IF it doesn't sell before i can get my hands on some scratch :)
