I couldnt see any way to update the title of my original Incoming NGD, here:

http://www.everythingsg.com/threads/incoming-ngd.28571/#post-402502

It arrived Friday afternoon. Guitar only, no strap or bag. Looks like it had been sitting a while as the frets look kinda tarnished or had some fermented finger oily glaze. The strings were rusty and maybe a little discoloration on a couple of the pickupguard screws, its hard to tell they maybe just didn't match new.

Wiped it down with a little cleaner that has some rubbing alcohol in it to hopefully prevent tetanus!

There is a little pick scratching on the pick guard. No ding, no dents, no chips. One slight pock or little crud in the finish on the back of the body.
Pretty darn close to new condition, except as mentioned.

Tuned it up, plays nicely except for the funky sounding strings. Action and neck relief a bit high. Nut cut appears ok. The fret end tangs and bevels are the smoothest of any guitar I have when I first got it. The HB is too hot for my shi$$y playing, but the controls all work well.

Tuners are pretty crappy.
Frets pretty level, slight high on 10 and 13.
Cleaned her up, new strings, action and relief setup.

Keeper! I will be getting a Mean 90 and tuners soon.
What are the thumbscrews at the bridge height screws for? I loosened them to adjust the height but don't really see a need for them. I don't really see them as intonation adjustment as that would appear quite unstable.

Just realized I really didnt check the intonation. Found that those thumbscrews are it. will follow up in the next few days.
I was gonna say ...
As you adjut one side for proper intonation, the other side will move. So you have to go back and forth some, to get it close to perfect. It never really is perfect in the upper frets but you can get it reasonably close. Since we rarely play chords up there, it doesn't really matter.

BTW, really nice one. I'm jaleous.

How do you know if a replacement bridge has the right post spacing for the existing holes in the body? I saw your Wilk black one.
You take a chance they fit :)

No really, most of those for sale are metric and most Epiphones are too. If not, the difference is so minimal, you can just file some material off the inside of the hooks for the posts. I did it before. It's a $20 piece of metal, I'm not going to have nightmares over modifiyng that thing.

By the way, just ordered those for my Jay Turser.
Alnico 5, neck: 7.1k, bridge: 7.9k. I'll let you know how they sound.

The Wilkinson bridge should fit. It fits fine on both my '61 SG Specials and my LP Special I. It's also slightly lower so you can get the strings lower with it than the stock lightning bolt bridge.

Awesome. Yes, please let me know what you think.
I saw a youtube of a guy with my same guitar with a Mean 90 and it sounded great; he was doing some Mississippi Queen.

I got my strat set from GM. Al5, sound good but the middle has very low output. I havent pulled it apart again yet to check it out.

I missed the GFS sale for the 15%, only a few dollars but it covered the shipping. I couldnt decide if I would upgrade the tuners and if so, which ones.

The locking Wilkinsons they carry are GREAT tuners. Come in Chrome, Gold or Black. I tend to get them in black, seems to go with everything.

I ordered a matched set of SL500 pickups. Weak mag medium wound. They're going into the LP Special I I picked up.

Good find ! I never think of looking on Reverb for those things.
Yeah I got them yesterday, but I was too busy cleaning and playing my new G400 to even look at them. They should go in the Jay Turser soon.

Saw that, just posted in your thread. Man that is a great find.
Congrats. Enjoy the NGD honeymoon.
Since I got both my SGs (I had a special for a few months I bought and sold earlier this year) over the last 2 months they have yet to see the inside of a case. Both have been my daily players.
My Agile 2000 got a little play time but my back has been sketchy so these lighter ladies have gotten all my attention lately.
I noticed, your sig says Jay Turner....
