i have been looking to buy the peavey valveking 50 watter tube amp. but have been looking at the epiphone valve juinor alot lately and was just wondering if it possible to make it louder than the 5 watts. maybe hooking it up to a cab or something.

Um no. Cabs dont make watts, or 5 watts louder.

In tube amps, it takes 10times the wattage to be twice as loud, so the Valve king logically will be twice as loud as the VJ. Which will be LOUD.

I'll think you'll be happy with either htough. ;)

it is loud, but ive bout the combo, and i'm still gonna use it as a head when i get a cab, so the combo can be used as a head to drive a cab too

EDIT: but it only has a 4ohm out stock, there is an 8ohm tap in there, which you can put another jack in for... if you need 16ohm, go for the head

speakers of any kind have impedance ratings, which is the impeadance they operate at. the amps output needs to match the impedance of the speaker(s). amps generally have more than one output so as to be flexible. common outputs are 4, 8 and 16ohms.

it doesnt end there however. with more than one speaker, there are different ways of wiring them to achieve different impedances.

eg. with two 8ohm speakers, you can wire them in series and get 16 ohms (they add) or wire them in paralell to get 4 ohms (they halve).

in 4x12 cabs, you can wire all series, all paralell or a combination. eg. (all 8 ohm speakers) you could wire pairs in series then wire those pairs in paralell to get 8 ohms total.
