Volutes on SG's an original idea?

    Think Gibson was innovative with that idea? Think they came up with their own concept? I wonder ...... :dontknow:

    This is just me thinking on my own but it kind of seems borrowed from violin and other stringed instruments which also had some sort of volute type thing to strengthen the neck, but I could be wrong.
