    SGster,

You don't need no stinki'n oil when you have glowing firebottles. heat the room with the VOX. Or better yet.....My Dual rectifier has 11 tubes....That's enough for a whole house....He He

Yes sgSter, I ordered the optional 2 button foot switch, I think you can put the vox pedal board into that amp also, not sure though, ess might know. Of course you probably don't need any effects board with all the dial up effects that come with it.

Sorry, theVC4 & VC12 are reserved for the AD60VT & up only. They're the high priced spread.

How is the high-gain on those? I've got a Cambridge 30 (30w tremelo amp). I'ts got a killer clean channel, but I can't stand the high-gain channel- no articulation, flat and lifeless. It could be the 1X10 speaker. I usually go through the clean channel with a DS-1 and it sounds good. I'm looking into getting a small bedroom amp soon (15w-30w), and this would be on my list. I just hope they did something with the dirty channel.

I have the older open back vt, cause I like that sound. I have a closed Marshall cab if I need the closed cab sound. I think it does high gain very well. I used it right next to my Soldano ROS and the US Highgain patch was awfully close, though I liked the Vox sound better than the Soldano itself cause it's a little fatter sounding. I've always found Soldano amps too thin for me. The Vox ad120 is my favorite amp I have owned. I'm picking it over about 20 good tube amps I've used. Just cause it does so many things well for me.

I'm working on a few sound samples, hopefully I'll toss them up early next week and let you all know.

Thanks for the input on the 120. I'd love to pick up the 120vtx but 1199.00 is a lot of coin. And then, i'd want the vc-12 controller! :)

Yeah, I see it's only one channel. Is it a 1X12?

    yuppers. 1x10 on the 30

    1x12 on the 50

check out their site, its got all the specs there and sound files.

not one for pedal boards and all that malarky. but that valvetronix board looks WAY cool fer messing round with.

I am not happy with the 1x10 on my Cambirdge 30. It's a celestion, but it sounds so weak. The amp sounds sooo much better with headphones on, more bassy.

Hey, how hard was it to replace the grillcloth? I've been thinking about doing that to my AD120. It would look awefully close to an AC30 then. But I was afraid with all the piping it would be a real pain.
