https://soundcloud.com/drbgood/03-01a Hard to find the right settings for this thing to reproduce what I hear from the amp speaker. I'm getting there though. Nothing fancy here, just a clean tone test from my Epi '61 reissue SG with P90s.
I think the tone sounds great on your clean channel. I take it you found what you needed to get started on YouTube for your tone lab software. Now you have to meet the addiction and beat it. I myself have given in to the fact that my life, is now, the slow death of a thousand takes.
Didn't find a thing on You Tube. There is a vacuum regarding the Tonelab multi-effect pedal on the web. Like it was forbideen or something.
Wow. I'm really surprised. There has to be a tutorial somewhere. How about this For some reason it's not working. I went into you tube and typed "tone lab tutorial" a bunch popped up.
And the video's recorded sound coming from those two little speakers is an injustice to how well the pedal can really sound! I can't imagine anyone wanting to actually sound like the thin scratchy noises this brave youtuber was getting from the pedal. Certainly one must keep all this in mind while listening to the video. This impresses upon me that it's just a shame that the importance of fidelity & sound quality is so quickly left out of the recording equation by so many youtubers & the like while demonstrating things that make sound & produce Music! Youtubes compression & format alone already go a long way towards hampering sound quality but recording this sound coming from those two tiny speakers on a digital video camera is a near certain death kneel for anything sounding near decent or impressive to stand a chance of shining through in the process. I've seen dudes play & perform live using these pedals & they really can make some way cool sounds with some solid tone patches as well.
Did you learn something looking at that soooo well made tutorial ? What I was looking for, was instruction on recording with it.
I learned nothing buddy, except that if you play the blues you need blue toe socks. And a Aussie accent makes gibberish sound interesting. Were you not entertained????
Too bad I don't own a vidéo camera or an iPhone, cause I would eventually make a real demo/tutorial of this thing. Maybe some day ...
It needs to be done with a level of competence. I am confident you are the guy for the job. Thank god that the videos I needed for my recording equipment were done with a fair degree of competence and very informative. I would've been lost without someone going over the basics. I'm certainly not a pro but I have enough knowledge to be dangerous and can make a fair recording where each instrument can be heard without the mud and the wash. I hope you that if you get the proper equipment you can be that guy for someone else. God knows we all need help along the way.
OK I am getting very good tone in recording. It's the replay I now have issues with. When I replay it via the Tonelab USB (DAW is set to it), it comes out throught the amp it's connected to (Micro Terror with 12" BH Eminence). Tone is glorious, same as what came out it while recording. Really nice ! When I play it through the PC soundcard, which is connected to the hifi stereo, it sounds like crap. Yet iTune sounds great through the same channel. What am I missing here ?
I just bought the ST and I'm still learning how to adjust everything. I like it, I like it a lot. I've been using this before my Ditto pedal and playing with myself... err, no comments from the peanut gallery!
My PC is a HP Pavillion DV7 laptop, a great machine, but it has the stock Audio Beat card or something like that. I just ordered a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Shipped for $90, not too bad. It's on the way.
Damn! Look at you going all out! Hope it all works out for ya bud. Nothing worse than something like this persistently haunting your system, especially considering you are an artist needing it to assist you in making your masterpiece. Must be like painting with watercolor on a napkin or some other frustrating painter conundrum.
I probably won't create any Stairway To Heaven or Voodoo Child, but it is frustrating to get these beautiful tones and just loosing them at one point in the chain of events. At that price, I can always resell it with a small profit.
I finally got a Focusrite Scarllett 2i2. It found its permanent spot as my PC sound card. Started testing it, the sound that comes out through my hifi is now very accurate.
