These are available super cheap at the building store. Just needs to be covered in something guitar friendly.

I don’t want to sound like a snob, but Hercules are pretty affordable as well. I mean, not 1.99 affordable, but I would rather spend a few extra bucks to have a nice quality hanger for my beloved instrument

My suggestion too. It probably only applies to the UK though. There are not many US houses that have anything other than stud walls. You're not putting these up on plasterboard very easily.

Just find a nice piece of wood and screw this hook into it, and mount the wood to the wall with toggle bolts. I wouldn't want to be around whatever would rip that out of the wall.

    TNX for the idea....

I gotta do something, the 'Rubber' or whatever garbage that is on my 'Stand-up' stands eats thru masking tape in a bout a year and still mars the finish on Nitro finished guitars... the only type I have. I put old T-shirts around the posts and it always unravels, and just looks really bad, hack-like.....Selling stands with warning lables is OK ? Finding a guitar-stand with materials that will not mar the finish on a Nitro Finished Guitar is just not happening. Not a single place I visited recently had a stand without warning labels, not frikkin one !

No one has come up with a material for a guitar stand that will not damage a Nitro finish? EE-GAD MON... Someone definitely should.

Yeah, it's my take on George Harrison's Stratocaster he painted and called "Rocky."

Mine is not a Strat. I sure as heck wasn't going to risk a risky paint job on a two thousand dollar guitar. Mine is a Fender Squier Bullet Strat. Cost 120 bucks. I actually spent about as much on the paints. 17 different colors to be bought or mixed. Took me about a week to paint the guitar.

I was just going to hang it on the wall as an art piece, really; but the Bullet Strat actually sounded pretty nice. Cheap guitars nowadays are actually capable guitars. My painted Rocky looked nice, but (surprise to me) also played and sounded very nice.

Well done! Every Fender I have ever met needed at least an afternoon on the bench to get it playing the way I wanted, and as you say, a Squire can be set up and made to play as well as anything else. I am betting your work has significantly improved the value of that guitar. Not that you should want to sell it or anything, just that it was time well spent.

Yeah, look at the price they go for when Fender itself paints the guitars:

I'll bet George would be more likely to smile down from Heaven if one were to buy a blank guitar with the same specs, and paint their own version of a psychedelic scheme.

He'd be happier still if they made a design personal to them.

Clearly I need to study up a little bit on my "famous guitars" :D. That's two in a row from players I like and consider myself fairly familiar with that had slipped under my radar.

That is hilarious and ridiculous at the same time. How do you find the tuning pegs? Rev. Billy'd be proud.
