Just because it says Gibson
??You know you said that out loud?![]()
Both? Are you implying that an SG exemplifies what a Gibson means to you, or are you implying that you want one because the word Gibson appears in the headstock?
Both?
I guess just the Standard. I’m a lefty so I don’t have much of a choice lolFair enough.
They really are exceptional guitars. Which version are you interested in the most?
Nah, we have to call the pit boss over to settle that.P-90 > Humbuckers
AgreedThis thread is a great test of our honesty and snobbery.
Let's all be honest. You and a bunch of guys meet at a studio to jam and someone pulls out an Epiphone. What do you think of that guy?
- guy is not a rich guy,
- guy is not really into guitars,
- guy wished he had a Gibson.
Different jam session, guy pulls a Gibson out of his case. We think:
- guy has some expendable cash,
- guy is into guitars,
Notice how we do not judge a person's ability by the guitar he plays. The snobbery does not go that far; but we do judge a guy's wealth and interest in guitars according to what they play. The GIBSON on the headstock does elevate the person in all our eyes. Be honest....there is snobbery attached to what is on the headstock.
(And believe me, when you pull a Rickenbacker out in front of some players....man, they think you are a billionaire and can play like Pete Townshend. I am neither, but it is cool to fool people for a bit.)
