I'm an Optician. I fabricate, fix, repair, and adjust eyeglasses. I fill prescriptions(like the ones jota writes), and help people see. The root of my experience in this line of work is fabrication. I start with a hockey puck sized hunk of plastic, and turn it in to something that allows you to perceive the world in an acceptable way.
As a lot of you are learning, I'm the a$$hat that expects to be paid for helping you NOT squash anyone when you're behind the wheel...so you may continue to function behind the wheel...or in front of the computer screen...or whatever you can't see these days....

Except the future.... I can't help you see the future...for that, you're on your own.

I am a lawyer. If you do not take Don's advice and squash someone while behind the wheel, I will be there. You do not want to hear from me. I have a deep belief in what I do, which is part friend, part therapist and part Big Pappa, helping often disadvantaged people reconstruct a life in the face of insurance companies and other large entities that do not care to pay for their mistakes.

I am a work warrior. I sleep very little and only take only 2-3 days off per year, in both instances because I am forced to do so. I am tenacious and care personally for each of my clients. It is what preserves my sense of humanity and I believe will ultimately save my soul.

I have been around your profession a lot too. I dated an optomotrist and an optician, and I was freinds with lots of store owners, I used to hang out at the optometry school. My great friend and best man is an optomotrist and so is his wife. I never dated anyone long enough to get invited to the yearly "eye ball", which I am still sad about!

I'm a Crew Leader on an armored truck, working in the Cash Transport industry. Been at the same company about 12 years, and love it.
Besides delivering money and high value goods, we also cash up ATMs (cash machines), collect takings from various businesses, and escort cash and valuables around the state.
I used to train all the new guys (was a licensed and certified trainer) but got sick of being used...
Before that, was in Local Government Law Enforcement and mobile security patrols.

In my line of business we frequently work with armored transport personal to keep out products safe when transporting to and from shows :yesway:. My older brother recently retired from 25 years of service as a law enforcement officer for a small collage town in Northern California.

If coming down South, bring some of those cheap poor copies you call guitars, they are good enough for us to play for beer in some cool bars I happen to know of around here

I'd wake up the next day in Rio (pretty far from where I live), in a horrible headache, a tooth missing, my fists aching and swollen from barfighting, a tiger in the bathroom, the hotel room all messed up, three drunk naked chicks asleep on the carpet, look around and go "WTF? Hey, where's Adrian????"

I paint. Been doing it for ... gee ... 37 years.

At first when I got out of Fine Art school, I did a lot of illustration for advertising companies. It payed the bills and gave me free time to develop my own style in painting. Then when everything started to get done on computers, my painting was selling better, so the transition wasn't painfull. I did portraits on commission for a while, good money there.

It got harder in the past 10 years though. So I opened my own art gallery for three years, but it turned out not to be my forte to deal with the public. When every week, there someone you want to punch in the face, it's time to go to something else. But the whole thing was somehow positive and I made a good profit selling the building.

So now I'm working with a local gallery that does big art shows around the world. Up to now, my work was shown in Singapore in November, Hong Kong in May and London in June.

    Here's my website.

I may not know art, but I know what I like.
    I really like Harfang 7.
You've got some nice stuff, and I'm not just saying that because you've been nice to me. If I thought it sucked, I'd tell you. I'd do it diplomatically, because you've been a friend here, but I'd tell you nonetheless.
