I have an SG Standard which I bought new, back in 1969. It was the 75th Anniversary model, at that time. I believe that it was manufactured in Gibson's Montana plant in 1968, Serial # 950581. The serial number is embossed into the back of the headstock, with MADE IN USA embossed beneath it. What follows is the way it was with what it had from the factory. It has a very dark walnut nitro finish, with Gibson Deluxe tuners, neck bindings, batwing pickguard, neck and bridge chromed humbucking pups, black witch hat knobs, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with nylon saddles, engraved, chrome, Vibrola tailpiece, 1 9/16" wide nut, rosewood fretboard on a mahogany neck. The guitar is a tone monster. I just don't know what original pickups were installed in it. Does anyone out there know? There is a photo of it, attached. The photo, however, illustrates the modifications I've done to it over the years.
