I was looking for a strap and bought a Levy's suede ms12 50 dollar strap. Online its maybe 30 dollars! anyway I might take it back to change the color. Is suede underside the way to go to prevent slippage ? seems a little tshirt huggy for me.

What kind of strap is this babe wearing ? Think I prefer huggy over twisty. Definitely don't want a strap with the plastic bits on that smash into the guitar or make those massive circle indents around the strap area. This levy's strap seems a little thick so I'm thinking putting on washers is going to be a pain.

Washers go on fine with Levy IME. But I have just plain leather. But its thick enough that it should be comparable.

I have a Fender custom shop on my standard.

And an Italia Studio on my 60's tribute special.

The chick in the pictures has the strap attached to the button the wrong way, hence the twisting....

Mine is basic black. Good enough for Petrucci & Vai, good enough for me.

She has the strap on wrong. I would like to help her with that. Can you put us in touch?

I use leather with no fing strap locks - just the washers.

    .

I have a wide (white) stiff single layer leather strap with a suede back for extra grip to go on my all black Epi SG. It cuts the dive.
Not sure the origin as I got it with a used non-SG guitar, in practically new condition, and decided it would go well with the SG.

See if you can find a Tandy leather store near you. You could probably get a leather strip for low cost that will work after cutting holes and trimming the ends; you might even find out how to tool it, dye it, and make it better than a regular store-bought strap. Risk is you will get a new hobby.... :D

If you want a thick, wide leather/suade strap then I'd point you to the Fender Road Worn straps that I use, comes in brown or black with brown underside. They're very soft and comfortable for me

This one is perfect for me. I use the Dunlop plastic washers as strap locks.

I do the plain leather, cheap Perri's I think, rough or unfinished back and rubber washer strap locks be it the Fender ones, generic neoprene rubber washer or (my favorite), Grolsch bottle gaskets.
