It has been a very hot Summer here. Last Friday night, it came to an end. Temperatures have dropped from the triple digits (°f) and are on the way toward the fall and winter norms, if that is still our normal. With last years snowfall not quite cleaned from the high Sierra, we had snowfall today along I 80, closing the trans-Sierra highway for several hours. As I walked along the Sacramento River levee at Garcia Bend this afternoon, I could not remember ever seeing the water this high in mid September. Given just our average rain/snow for the Autumn months, I may be in deeper water than Houston. My house sits 100 feet from Morrison Creek and maybe a mile from the Sacramento River. I hope y'all remember who sent the money and swift water rescue teams..............
