Where can I find better SG plans than these?

Hello, This is my first guitar build. I've been reading forums and watching videos for a few years and I've decided to build a Gibson SG since I've wanted one fore a while.

I've searched and these are the best plans I've found. They're very detailed as far as Stewmac part numbers, but I need some measurements. Particularly, from the end of the fretboard to the pickup, to the pickup, to the bridge, to the tail piece, to the edge of the body. I know where the bridge goes from the scale, but the bridge is placed at an angle, so do I measure from center? Also, I've read that the sides are too deep on these plans.

I'll buy them if someone can recommend a site that sells accurate and detailed plans.

Thanks.

I think our own axeman1956 managed this, from those very plans:

I don't know what period of SG you're thinking of making but from a quick look at the plans I can see that for a genuine '61 style the neck joint is wrong as is the control cavity. The shape looks about right so you could use that as a starting point and adapt the plans to get what you want. You will find loads of pics on here to help with the shaping, along with some other SG build threads. As for the measurements, I've found it's usually best to set out the parts you are using as a failsafe method of making sure everything fits together in the end. :)

Go to this website, and scroll down to the SG plans. There's one titled 1963-JR. It is the most accurate body template out there. All the others are 3/4" too long. You'll still be on your own for the control locations. The best thing to do would be to print a few copies at Kinkos or some other place that does large sheets, then fit the type of pickguard and pickup rings etc. to the print. Then trace everything. Fortunately, I had enough guitars lying around for reference as I was making templates for the guitars that I am in the middle of building now.

Me and a couple of other guys from My Les Paul are gathering and compiling info. I took a lot of measurements when I had the 61 in my shop. When we got everything put together a full sized, accurate as possible print will be made available in either a pdf or dwg file.
It's not going to happen overnight though...patience ! :thumb:
