For those of you who have dealt with this, where did you go for your vinyl duplication, and how much did it cost? My band is looking to get our next recording on vinyl but there's a lot of options out there. Some seem very sketchy. Looking to make a short run (no more than 300) at a reasonable price. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I think some folks actually do make vinyl platters with grooves like I grew up with, 33 rpm, RIAA, etc.

Uh, didn't everything move to CD and download though? There are several companies that do limited-run duplication and replication (2 somewhat different processes) of CD's.

I'm curious though if you really mean 33's.

^ Thanks! I had just heard about Gotta Groove earlier today. They seem like the best bang for the buck.
And yes, Dbb, Vinyl is all over the place these days, again.

I dont remember the address but when I was traveling... there were actually studios that advertised that they can do vinyl. I have to confess I love the sound of rock music on vinyl. Granted CDs are much easier and cheaper but there is just something about vinyl that is cool.

Me too! And as the old song went... "Video killed the radio star".... MP3 has killed music's "soul"!

We wont record until next month. Just searching out options. As far as tape goes, it's gonna make the whole project MUCH more expensive, so we'll see. We may just have to settle for a solid, digital mix to go on.

Well sir, either way, I wish you and the band success on this project! :fingersx:

Hope you get a good engineer for the work. That sure helps... Again, good luck on the project....
