Been here a couple weeks now. I have got to say that this forum is by far the friendliest bunch of guys/gals anywhere on the interwebs. There are other forums that I've signed up for, will refrain from naming names, that I felt just unwelcome at, or even outright (for lack of better term) bullied. To everyone here, thanks for all the help and support and kind words. To all those joining, welcome.

Must just be the laid back mindset that makes SG owners awesome, I don't know. I have no issues asking the dumbest of questions here! No judgment! Not like those good for nothing, hoyty-toyty LP owners (:mad:waves fist!) ONLY KIDDING!

    Thanks again, and rock on!

The funny thing is that plenty of us here are also LP owners. We tend to stay away from *that* place though.

Welcome...I haven't been around much, but it is a nice place to spend online guitar time.

This place is a great way to get your fix for sure. Also, if you are "not feeling it," you will find something to get you in the mood. Love this page!

Yeah, this place is special. A quiet island of non-aggressiveness in an increasingly aggressive and cut throat world.

Being a newcomer myself, I have to say the same thing. People here are really friendly and they make you feel welcome right away. It's quite simply a great forum.

Btw., I don't own a Lester, but I'd sure like to have one! (Although I'll probably get more SGs first...)

You mean no one has flamed you, yet?

*Sigh* It's so hard to find good help these days.

Ah, well...I suppose I'll have to do it...

    Here goes...

    Flame, Flame Flame!

Okay, now that that is out of the way....glad to have you!

This forum goes back a little and it has really always been that way. If there are the negative forums out there... we don't mind others having the corner on the negativity block. And many are right that it isn't just the SG's because most of us own other types of guitars as well... and some more then others (LOL). Hey... life is too serious anyway, why not have a cool relaxing place to chill at....? :thumb:

Agreed. Good positive waves here even with the occasional disagreement. Good admins and regulars. Thank you for your time keeping it real Six String. I have been to other forums for other hobbies and run into lots of negative crap. I was surprised for a while at the flame wars on the FB SG owners group. Admins took care of that eventually but they pop up there more often.

Yes, thanks to the moderators, that let us run off the folks that are NOT friendly.
We have nice ways of getting rid of troublemakers.

It works well...except that I'm still here.

I found a way to make my SG sound like a Les Paul - and they let me stay. Snuck in under the radar, I reckon.

Why did I choose an SG anyway? Les Paul-ish tone without the (then, before weight-relief) overly heavy body. Upper fret access was a plus too.

That's something I noticed early on in my time here. Self policing. The mods/admins seldom have to step in to shut down a thread that's headed to a bad place.
