Be it just better (behaved) or self-policing or just those with basic respect for others and their opinions, this forum is my new "home" for guitar and guitar paraphernalia questions, discussions, and input! I'm hooked!

... I think the two important factors we have here is that we agree to disagree when we need to. AND... when we wave hello or goodbye......... we use ALL our fingers! :thumb::sadwave::thumb:

This forum is different because we are all.... different. Some of us are more different than others, but we are definitely all different.

You cannot ask the dumbest questions, that's my job! :D

This place has a good style indeed; very positive. I'm a horrible poster, but in this environment find meself taking care to promote positivity and generally encourage others. I think a lot of it comes from the senior posters who have an excellent attitude, great knowledge and are very supportive of others - they set the tone. Tís a good forum indeed.

We let anyone have their opinions..but be prepared to hear opinions back :) but its all done in a nice way. No meanness here. Only one real rule.. "PIctures or it didn't Happen!"

Opinions, back AND forth? Sharing of ideas? COMMUNICATING? Promoting a better understanding of something while receiving encouragement in doing so? Constructive criticisms to, in the end, have a more viable and positive outcome?? What kind of place IS this?

I guess if I want the elitist, "I'm better than you, I'm smarter than you, I have more money = better equipment than you" attitude, I better look elsewhere.

Nevermind, I'm staying here. ETSG rules. :dude:

SG's are really heavy guitars, and Wisdom says "never flame a guy who's holding a really heavy guitar".

But yeah, I'm also new and I've noticed that too. Not a lot of the typical guitar forum behavior in these parts. It's nice.

That's why I play a LP, because they are sooo much lighter than a SG.

We have had the occasional troll here. You know the type. "My opinion is the only one that counts and if you don't agree you're a total idiot and don't deserve to breathe."

I have noticed they don't hang around long.

If nobody buys-in to their BS, they won't hang around long. Their self-righteousness has to be satisfied or they'll will seek it out elsewhere. All I have to say is, "Happy hunting!":sadwave:

That other forum has some cool people but many many haters and jerk offs yes! I've been banned three times for calling them on their BS. I'm a man of peace who likes to keep it humble. This is a real peaceful forum and I hope it stays like that always. I found out about this joint from the other LP forum, not the rock star yuppie one where you have to have a paid email but, the one I know some are posting about here. I don't plan on going back there anymore. I'm tired of the nonsense. It should be a brotherhood of musical gear, not some sick strange competition. This forum is nice.

They have a post sticking out about the cork sniffers from TLPF pointing out that we on here are of lesser intelligence. A bunch of vultures from there had some very not so nice of remarks for members here. They were also posting crap about MLP as well. These are probably the same trend followers who instead of answering "yes" to a question say "pretty much!" LOL. This place is groovie no "put downs" or "mud slinging" except maybe for my little quip at the contemporary vernacular.

----Now to be "serious" for a moment....I agree about the lack of flaming/bashing.....I find more folks here being complimentary and taking a "your much better than me" angle instead of YOU SUCK GO AWAY AND GET A CLUE type comments (I get those alot over at the quilting forum---those old ladies can be CRUEL!!)

So thanks for putting up with my crap. lol

    To the Op -

This forum does seem a genuinely pleasant place to be.

As long as you don't say "min-etune".

So...that thread "over there" was spawned from ONE alleged not-so-nice comment posted here? I had a guy from Minnesota give me the finger on the freeway once, I guess ALL Minnesotans are now a-hole drivers. Makes sense, right? Same rationale?
