Made an interesting recording and thought that I'd get it on the site. So I went to the fabled Soundcloud and managed to get signed on with it. But as always it went south real fast! Though I have an account there now the site will not let me do a damn thing with it. Cannot confirm the e-mail as per it's request and continue to get an error thing sent to me when I do. Nothing works. Thus I have another account that is useless to me. Once again the old man is frustrated as the computer and it's cyber buddies conspire against me. Just venting a bit as I'm just wondering if this is common, or as I suspect, it's just me...... as usual. So I gave up. Not worth me gettin' all bent outta shape over.

The mountains, rivers, and woods of Montana are looking better to me everyday now. Think I am gonna move there and toss the computer and get back to the old ways. I'm one hell-of-a-lot better at huntin' and trappin' than I am with this confounded computer and all it's headaches!

I'm goin' out to the woods now and go shoot sometin'! Then I'll feel better. Soundcloud my ass, baahh! Bet those boys can't work a sixgun like I can and they most likely don't know which end of a horse does what either!

I'm gonna try it out . I'll let you know how I make out. I have a heck of a time recording anything anymore. I can't believe we used to complain about having to thread a tape.

Shucks the tape part is just dandy. I do everything in one take. No problem there. It's when I try to get it to the internet that things go all afoul and nothing happens! I've got three accounts with various gizmos that simply won't work. Guess I'm just computer dumb..

It's a shame all this nonsense happens to you Wade, as I'm sure there are plenty of people on this site who would just love to hear your songs and noodlings.

To confirm your email address you usually get sent an email to that address and there is a link in it you have to click. If this doesn't work for you I can't imagine what's wrong. We've exchanged emails before, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong

Miss Techeket (geddit?) offers her hand in help - if you wish I can make an account and use one of my emails, then tell you the user and password. You would have to email your clips to me first to do an upload though.

If you decide to leave well enough alone I understand too. Even I find certain online services a bit of a faff and constantly worry that, with the fickle nature of the internet, one day in the not so distant future they won't be around any more. Even though analogue means are more susceptible to natural disasters, I like to have them around.

Well Miss Heket it did in fact send me an e-mail to confirm my e-mail. Sounds redundant but anyway I did click on it and it went to loading something then it gave me a error code 500 (what ever that means) and didn't work. Typical for me.

Then I went to the Soundcloud site and it never even opened up. It went right straight to the same error message. Never even got the site to open. This really stinks. I believe that I'm cursed. So I simply threw my hands up in the air but didn't shoot the computer. Instead I went out the my range in the woods and shot a fine classic 1956 Smith & Wesson .38 Spl. Shot a bunch of stuff to pieces and feel better.

If you are still on dialup that may be where most problems lie.

There are computer issues that still drive me nuts, and I know my way around both PC (yuk) and Mac.

So you have my sympathies!

I've still never gotten Myspace to work correctly.

Ya know the funny part is that now I have an account with that outfit I can't even open the main home page of the site! Seriously, it won't even open now. The whole house is cursed. The computer won't act right. If I run a heater and the TV I can't turn on a toaster oven or a breaker will get hot and quit. It won't trip. Just get hot and stop until I wiggle it. So if it's cold and I wanna cook something I gotta shut off the heat. Kill the TV or computer, and then I can use the little toaster oven. But even then if the fridge kicks on the lights will flicker for a moment.... And just before I came on here I was back in my bedroom and moved a little heater back there and what do I find on the carpet where the heater was sitting? You guessed it. A stinking scorpion! Number 89 confirmed kill this season. Eight short from last year's count! This place, and me with it, are cursed!

OK I gave up on that one and found an outfit called yourlisten.com and I hope that it works....I'll try and post it in the appropriate forum thingie. Maybe this will lift some of the curse...

Well Well.... It took the Soundcloud folks three days to respond. They started talking about browsers, plug ins, cookies (cookies?? What, am I baking now?) Closing this and opening that. It was so damn confusing that I'm not even going to try. If, and that's another thing too, IF I can figure which whatever thing to reply to, I'd tell them to just forget the whole thing. But I don't even know what is the right one so I'm just gonna move on and forget the whole mess.........

I got a site that I can work with and ya don't have to be a computer programer or a super geek to use it. I'm way too old, and my time here is far to short now to even attempt to learn this computer stuff. I can do the following: 1. Record now with this thing. 2. I can kinda sorta mix with it too. 3. I can get it to the one site that I halfway understand how to use. 4. I can do pictures with it now. I think that's pretty good for an old man that's just two steps away from the reservation. So I'm happy with what I can do anyway. Besides, I'd like to see those computer boys they got deal with the Badlands. They'd starve in two days and be eaten by wolves in three!
I like my skill sets better.
