Worn brown SG special is now white

Just wanted to make a change and I always liked white SGs. I still need to do the final prep and clear coat but Ill get around to it later.

Looks great.if ya dont mind would you tell what process you did to paint it.what kind of paint ?? Did ya primer it ?? Im curious.might want to paint one sometime myself

LOL you might not want to use my method. This guitar was a worn brown that for some reason somebody had sanded badly and then tried to put what looked like polyurathaine coating over the whole guitar pickguard and pickups too. I just sanded the poly off and tried TV yellow first but didnt like it so another light sanding and I sprayed it white. I had already replaced the pickguard and put it backtogether to see if I like the white. If I do then Ill clear coat it. Oh I just bought white spray paint. It turned out way better than i thought.

At first his pic fooled me on a quirky model I wasn't familiar with, and now your question leaves me wondering too. Only nbeers can fully explain what model his is etc. Nbeers, what model is this???????

Daphne, here is my 87 3 knob special. The 3 knob Pre 91 Special had 1 Volume, 2 Tone laid out like a strat. On mine the neck p'up sits right up against the fretboard.

I am curiouser and curiouser about Nbeers guitar's origins and transformation to it's current Albino status.

It came stock with a plain black batwing guard I changed it to 3ply BWB and it has the stock 490R and T. I put witch hats on it cause I dont like the blck bell knobs that came on it. I bought it used for 400 bucks.
