Years ago when I bought my first distortion pedal I was so excited to get it home. It was a MXR Distortion. Which model I am not sure, but it had 4 knobs straight across the top and was a crappy yellow-brown color. Anyway, I was very disapointed at the very BROWN sound it had. Couldn't get any treble out of it to save my life.

Back when I was 15 years old, this was all I could afford to go with my Antoria "Rock Star" (Korean ES-335 copy) and my 30 watt Peavey transistor amp.
The pedal is nearly 20 years old now and although it's been through the wars a bit, it's still in working order. Mind you, no amount of nostalgia can reserve it a place on my pedal board. It really is quite atrocious.  ;D

Guys... you have to go to a Guitar Center and check out the new Boss Fuzz pedal... There you will find the most god-aweful pedal ever made... It sounds like your speaker is blown... I thought it was a practical joke from Boss when I first heard it...

EDIT: Might be good for an early era Who feedback sound?

Even though it's considered a Collectors Item.....It would have to be the original Mastro Fuzz Tone.

Like I said, good "Max R&B" era Who sound, because blown-out speaker and a Rickenbacker is basically it. :coolsmiley:

I'd have to agree with the Metalzone as being the worst I've ever tried, I miss my old Ibanez SM9 Super Metal, I used it for ages until the case crumbled under my foot.

agreed anything by dod - i used to use a "death metal" dod which had a thrashy sound - not my style anymore, but even worse the stupid thing broke so easily and i didnt even gig with it! What a piece of cr@p

pretty much anything by dod or other brands like that.
a cheap no namer DS-1 copy i bought for 10 bucks (first pedal.)
pretty much anything that has the word distortion in it. minus a few.

pretty much sums it up for me.

I own a DS-1 and by itself I think is is kinda weak. But if you set the tone straight up and crank the gain, through a clean channel it is a perfect match for the Back in Black album.

BTW......What is with MT-2 bashing?.......I personally use one alot. That and my Metal Muff with top boost.

Now a sorry Boss Pedal is the OS-2. Sorry I bought it.
