I have a 2011 50th anniversary SG-12. It is not for sale, just wanted to tell you they are not "neck through body".

How does it handle the extra string tension? I must have seen a knockoff neck through body version... Had a chance to buy them when they came out - they didn't sell very quickly... I also had a twat for a (now ex-) wife...

I think the neck through version was produced in 2017. I heard only 75 of each color were being made for world wide distribution.

I should edit this; I'd like either... maybe Gibson will do another run... every 5 years? 2011 - 2016 - 2021?

Not sure what neck dive is. I can say the the 10 years I have had this guitar, the action is as good now as ever. Stays in tune and plays great. It seems pretty well balanced for having a long neck and larger headstock, but obviously heavier than a standard SG.

Neck dive is the tendency for a guitar with a heavy neck relative to the body weight and balance to have the neck angle down towards your feet if you take your hands off of it.and walk around rather than stay in the playing position. Apparently neck dive sends some people into an apoplectic fit if it occurs. If you are not one of those it is much ado about nothing, it's just the way things are.

I agree. You can't put a larger head stock and 6 more tuners and expect it to be like a normal SG. I'd be more concerned if I was missing an arm and had to play with my feet.
