I've had 57, 57 plus, 490T, 498T SD59 and the Angus Young in Bridge position of SGs - the AY was my favourite humbucker in that position.
Just a thought, but my SG Special hardware all came in chrome. I had to change the bridge, and I decided to change the tuners too - I prefer Nickel, so that's what I got. The short-vibrato is the original chrome. But, the hardware all looks the same after a couple of months. Brand new, looking closely, you can tell a difference, but a few months of playing and dirt and cleaning and rubbing - it's not noticeable.

Well, I have to respectfully disagree. Over time nickel will age/oxidize/darken if you don't keep it clean/polished. Chome won't change much and can handle fingerprints better. Don't get me wrong, I like the looks of nickel, just too much of a difference for me on my guitar. I want chrome on this one. So, I'm just going to sell it.
