i love that guitar.....the color is totally cool to me and rather rare i would believe.....anyone ever seen like a green/forest green sg standard....or maybe im color blind........jeff tweedy from wilco plays one in that greenish tint....but as for the yellow, I DIG it man
Very nice SG, and I personally find the general consensus that Gibson made lousy guitars during that time period to be untrue. I own or have owned an '83, '85, and '89 SG and never had an issue with them.

Love the guitar..... but not nuts about the color. Just color me a traditionalist. 8) 8) 8)

I was wondering if anyone had comments about this guitar based on the difference in design. With the neck being set in closer to the body (as compared to a '61 RI) it places the end of the fretboard right against the bass pickup. Does this difference bring out anything better harmonically, or better comfort wise as far as playing with the neck closer in to your body?
well . . . I'm not sure if there would be an astronomical difference in tone from the neck pup
. . . but if you don't like it, you could always try flipping it around to orient the active polepieces closer to the bridge

Are you sure that's a 1990? The switch placement looks more like a mid 80's.

It could be an earlier guitar, but this is what the photo I saw showed it to be???
I don't think flipping the pole pieces around does anything one way or the other unless you have the poles screwed out high above the pickups. The difference in sound would be if the pickup position sat under a harmonic position. Now that I've thought about it, this yellow guitar we're talking about with the pickup right under the fretboard basically duplicates the location of a typical Les Paul, so it should be somewhat indicative of a LP's harmonic capabilities. This topic was just a curiosity for me. thanks....
