Just out of curiosity with all the different preferences we all have, which is your absolute definitive guitar knob styling and why?

I think '50s Les Pauls were equipped with top hats.
many '60s SGs were equipped with witch hats (but not all)
Most '70s SGs and Lesters were equipped with Speed Knobs.
After that, the deluge... ... buyer beware.
(except that they all work fine. Difference are mostly aesthetic).
I have two SGs, and one of them I equipped with Allparts top hats
simply because those go to 11. Buy feel, I don't think there is much difference
between top hats and reflectors. But I like the simplicity of the plain black
that goes to 11. My SG special below was equipped with plain black top hats
which go with the "less expensive" motif of the SG special. But I like the look
so I just got some volume knobs that could play louder. *grins

I think Fender amp knobs would look good on any guitar.
They just look cool to my eye.
But I found a set of Witch Hats to install on my 2012 SG special
"70s tribute" because some of the early '70s SGs were still equipped
with those. (probably Gibson supervisor said, "use all those up before
we start installing the "modernistic" speed knobs on our spiffy new
Norlin models).

These are Allparts replicas. I don't worry too much about authenticity, this guitar is so unique that
authenticity is a non-issue. I bought it because I liked the concept, and I have modded it only
superficially because the design was so well executed IMHO, and so unique and so interesting.
Speed knobs would also be correct for a '70s trib, but I like the Witch Hats, which was my vote.
Is everything "one louder" on that guitar?I just switched mine from witch hats to these amber top hats that go to 11.
