An unmolested 1967 bandmaster AB763
Cab even has stock oxford speakers sounds amazing
still original caps just swapped out two prong power cord
Shown here with my 1967 yamaha SA30
It's a 2x12 cab with 12t6-9 oxford speakers sounds great
Tech told me just to leave stock caps in
It was advertised as a 68 and happily found out it was a late 1967
Paid 900 CDN
That's a really nice example of a late 1967 transition model. I have a number of late 67, 68, 69 Bassman and Bandmaster amps with that same cabinet, sometimes referred to as "the large cabinet". This transition was started in August of 67' and the drip edge cabinets were discontinued in 1969. The cabinet was also enlarged and ported and finally discontinued in 1975. By that time CBS had done their damage, and the rest is history.
Two of the Bassman amps I currently have in the shop are going to an "A" level act shortly, now that they have been detailed and recapped, and one of my Bandmasters was shipped last year to the west coast corporate band for Mattel, along with a Dual Showman. I don't restore or detail Fender amps for a living, but over the past 50 years I guess my reputation for detail with Fender tube amps has developed into and almost full time second job with work on request. I don't advertise.
In my basement shop right now I have a great late 67' Bassman I picked up last week. Same cabinet, and I only spent $300 for the head and cabinet, but as is usual some work was needed to make the amp right. Be aware that because your amp is a late 67' model it may well be an AB763 circuit design. However, you may also have the AC568 circuit, which can be identified by the BIAS balance circuit. Please take the time to replace the power supply caps. I understand your tech said it wasn't needed, but 40 years old caps are a failure waiting to happen. Good luck with your often overlooked silver face Fender.
Some nice amps you have :) Love to have a bassman, nope amp is AB763 went through it and all numbers inside and out
Chassis serial number and stamp
show it being a 67 , and right bias wiring.
All factory no mods.
He had it listed as a 68 were the circuit changed in June 68 I was hesitant at buying it till I seen the serial number on back.
Even then I took down transformers and choke numbers .
Missed out on a 61 bassman by a week , then a 65 ... So I went for this bandmaster while I still had some cash.
Probably replace caps end of year
I am loving it , basically it is my living room center piece lol
Haven't had it past 8 .
Usually play it about 3-5 then use tube screamer if I want to break it up a bit.
Nice catch. Take care of that amp and you'll be happy with it forever. I bought my first Bandmaster in 1965 and paid $60 for it. It survived a club fire, falling off a truck, burns, and anything else you could think of. I finally gave it to my cousin who uses it to this day. Of course when it breaks he brings it to me.
Lol indestructible amp you had and it's still in the family it doesn't get better than that.
I thought grabbing this was best I could do with cash on hand.
Prices are starting to go up
Pictures on this site have to be under 1 MB in order for me to post picture with my iPhone I actually have to email it to myself then it allows you to change the photo size before emailing it.
Lol big pain in arse.
I just upload my photos to imgur.com and then copy and paste the link into the field that pops up when you select the image button (the one next to the smiley). Not sure if that is a pain on a phone or not; I always use the computer because I hate rubbing my fingers all over a stupid touch screen ...
Just picked up this 1977 tele deluxe , previous owner routed
back for strat trem bad job, then routed top for Kahler trem.
Stock Seth lover wide range pickups stock pots.
In process of gathering parts to turn back to hard tail.
Unfortunately it will have to go black. So far I have an original hard tail bridge , an original black pick guard off of a 1973 tele..
I have sourced a set of 1978 tele string ferrules , and late 1977 knobs.
Found this 1974 body autographed by Johnny Winter and Roy Clark
Instead if repairing the routs on my 77-78 ( won't know exact year till the neck is off) I'll use this
