2 part question) pickup covers and strap locks

does covers effec tthe sound whatsoever? dramitically or a smidge you just cant hear? I like the sound of my stock 490 pickups on my faded but i think covers would just make it look better

Also Strap locks what are good ones? My friend recommended me to get some since when we were playing my strap would just like falloff.

Gibson once published data that supported the idea that covers limit the high end. Some people swear that you can hear the difference, others say just crank up the treble a bit more, others say no differnce - go for the looks you like. Put the covers on if you want 'em, at worst you can take em back off.

if anything my tone sounds better with the covers on. probably just my imaginatino though. as for strap locks
i never use them i just grab a couple washers and my strap never comes off. i trust it more and its cheaper
and you don't have to swap any hardware.

i love the dunlop straplocks,,easy to put on, never had a problem...

I never noticed a difference with them on or off....but, that's me. As for stap locks, I use Dunlops.....ESPICALLY on my SG's (or any guitar with the strap button on the back, what a dumb place to put it anyway.)

no idea about the covers but as for straplocks I use Schallers.
