$5k, no warranty from the maker, who now disavows his work. Nice case, but I will inlay your Agile for a hell of a lot less. Am I missing something, other than the hype?

i interviewed with Teye for a job some years ago. He's a nice guy, but fairly intense about what he does. There's a lot of hand work in his guitars, very labor-intensive, and not much 'off the shelf' involved in their production.
That said, as wall art, they're impressive. To actually play one, or a Zematis, not my cup of tea.

From what I've read and the interviews I've seen, the guy is more hat than cattle, but in Texas, the size of your mark-up is a status symbol, too.

Andertons have these (licensed) Zemaitis pearl fronts at £2,699.

For the money I'd rather go with "the name" (although made by Greco in Japan now) than "the copy".

If i remember correctly, he's a transplant, originally Dutch by birth.
Very particular about his finishing process, or obsessive, if you prefer. Most of the interview concerned my take on finishing (lacquer) and why his method is better. Frankly, it left me relieved that i didn't get the job...

I saw 2 at Sam Ash tagged at $ 3,500 each. I was not tempted to play one.

They say that presentation/plating of food somehow makes it taste better. With this ax, I knew it would not sound right to me just by looking at it!

You're too practical... too logical...:D

I lust for Teye's Super Coyote. Damn Vintage Guitar Mag... Hell, I can't play for feces, but if I could - I would. A beautiful work of art that might be fun to play on. I'll probably never know...:sadwave:
