This is pretty funny, especially if you've ever delt with a Pawn Shop. Ya know they know how to read serial numbers dontcha? Check it out when he shows you, notice anything? ;D

haha, I think that guy really believed he was an expert when it comes to guitars too. Sadly, I am from the dallas area and lots and lots of pawn shop guys are that way around here. I have a couple shops that I enjoy stopping by on occasion but usually I have much better luck in smaller towns.

OMG ... I just looked again and it said " Patchogue " Pawn shop .. I've been there many many times since the 70's or so to always look around ... and all they've ever had was crap that seemed to consistently come from the " Spanish " west side of town! I can't believe it  ;D

Trouble is, people think that just cuz some numb nuts works in/owns a guitar shop that he's an expert. That ain't true either. You won't find a Gibson in a pawn shop here. They sell 'em on eBay or to a guitar shop for real money. Real Fenders are rare too - unless it's an amp.

I walked into a pawn shop recently because they had a used Brown Faded in the window. When I saw that they were trying to sell it for $799.99, I burst out laughing and walked out of the store!

I saw the same type thing at my local shop. There were a couple of small monitor speakers..... used, in not too bad shape...... at what I thought was a good price. But I was able to overcome my impulse buy feeling and found they were $2.00 a speaker less then what I could buy them new for. ;D I bought new............

When you think that they probably gave a loan on less than half of what they have on it...
But I've seen the same thing at Mom &Pop guitar shops. One in particular had $499.95 on a Epi SG Custom. That's like 4 cents less than new and I told him so. He probably sold it for his price too! :idiot:

Here they try to give you 10 cents on the dollar! Also, they all have an industry standard book on what to offer.. full of BS pricing !
