Absolutely! A lot of so called sports 'heroes' could take a lesson from him.

I'm gonna go against the grain here...

I've never much liked him, and it seemed a ridiculous gesture; what next, give the world cup to a lady walking past who dropped her ice cream??? He could have given his shirt instead, not a medal.

Re the match: yeah, a good one. The Kiwis have been a superb team for the last few years, a class above everyone else.

...if it was a Kiwi parent and the kid was getting an All Black's shirt they'd just worn to win a World Cup then I reckon they'd probably start weeping with joy!

Hmmm, the kid went to watch a game of blood, sweat and tears, but might be offended by a naked male torso. I'm gland I moved out of that insane PC country called England a long time ago, and have no plan to go back.

The kid wouldn't be offended - he'd have loved it. It's "The others". As for PC - I'll grant that there are those who are - but that holds everywhere. Most of us are sane and with a good sense of proportion.

I'm not saying you, Don, but England seems to be overwhelmed with insanity, much of it of the PC variety. On another forum, I mentioned on a gay male couple adoption thread that I thought a child should grow up with a mother, preferably the birth mother, whenever possible (that was it, I made no other comments, certainly no homophobic comments), and I was hung, drawn and quartered by the masses because of the 'rights' of gay male couples...

Rather bought this joke to my mind, and I thought that these satires are now standard English society, but worse, if you challenge the PC talk then you are satan!

The All Blacks are and always have been my favorite Rugby team.......as they where for my friend in New Zealand who recently passed away. HARRY, CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO!!!
Ah I am sure he had a front row seat.

I can tell you most "stars" here would have kept that medal and auctioned it off to the highest bidder.

Great to see. I say good on him.

I thought it was one of the most sporting gestures I've seen. To have that memory is something very special.

Have to agree about the whole PC culture here now, really boils my piss sometimes.

"Politically Correct". The lie is implicit in the phrase. It started life as an insult - not actually correct, merely politically correct. Somehow, among the chattering classes, that meaning has reversed. Personally I take no notice of them. They are just part of the background noise.

Although rugby isn't quite as appreciated down here as football (soccer), I do admire that game a lot, and if I were to support a team, I think the All Blacks would definitely be an option.

I especially enjoy the haka tradition.
