I'm posting here because I received a PM from a new member
who seems not to be able to do anything but read only.

Here's his letter to me: It was titled: "Can you help me?"

>Can you help me
>Sir,

>Was looking for info on SG Firebrand guitars and the search came up with this forum.

>I can log and the board will give me a big hearty welcome.

>Registered last week ago, and am unable to post, reply, load a picture, or anything except read.
>Not sure what went wrong.
>Have messages with the contact us link a couple of times but never received a reply.
>As a senior member, can you please send me contact info for a SG forum admin person.

>My e-mail address is:

While waiting for Admin you might try this in the meantime:

On the User Control Panel, under "Edit Options" scroll down to Miscellaneous Options. If you see Enhanced Interface chosen, try switching to Basic Editor. There may be a compatability issue with your browser that is thwarting you from being able to post.

Another thing you might try is using a different browser to log in with.

I had similar issues with other forums and it was a case of not being approved yet, which can be either because an admin personally needs to approve the registration or because I didn't get a validation email. Always check for validation emails, and if you think you should have got one but didn't then there might be an option somewhere to re-validate.

Also, Colonel, I think it would be wise to either remove the member's email from your post or, if he/she wishes to be contactable, put some extra spaces or say "at" instead of the symbol. Spambots can easily pick up email addresses from forum posts and use them to wreak havoc!
