My favorite color on an SG is the classic Cherry, but I do enjoy the funky colors of the SG Supreme. SG Supremes are some of the best looking guitars I've ever seen.. and I think some would look awesome with a full size pickguard on 'em.

On the other end: My least favorite SG is an Ebony finish. That's not to say I don't still enjoy an all black SG, its just not my first choice.

When it comes to an SG, I prefer any finish where I can see the beautiful wood grain underneath. My least favourite colour for an SG is Black because I find it makes it more difficult to see the beautiful curves of the guitar. My favourite finish is Cherry and I have a particular fondness for my Faded Cherry Elitist. :D

Hah, I thought I was the only one with that philosopy. But I still liked it enough to buy one in ebony.

I found a solution though: I simply wear white clothes when I play that bass :thumb:

This is an impossible question!

I like TV yellow. That Pelham blue is pretty slick looking. I bought a cherry one...wanted white. I recently fell for the faded walnut. Not a huge fan of black on an SG...which is odd because I like most things in black. I have a black LP...it's got it's place I suppose. I really like the natural burst on the 2012 standard limited. Not normally a huge fan of bursts on SGs though.

There is no "answer" to this question. An SG is a beautiful guitar regardless of color.

Cool guitars! I'll bet you have a black car...
You don't have a black SG??:dunno:
How do you like the nighthawk or whatever the Epi version is called?

Thanks :thumb:

sorry, my car is silver....

black SG :hmm: - not yet :naughty:

the Nighthawk Custom is a very lightweight versatile guitar
my most 'fenderish' guitar - with Epi feeling :naughty:

I really like most all of the colors but if forced to choose... it would come down to a nice aged white, natural burst of good ole gloss cherry. I really dig all three.

I fully agree. I think there is no better finish for an sg than that worn cherry & unfilled grain. Those 70's tribute look amazing in that color. Chocolate brown looks nice too. I don't like solid colors so much on SGs, but I dig pelham blue. It looks more vintage, you know, they shouldn't seem "too new" :hmm:

I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a Gibson '70s Tribute with the P90s when I found my Elitist. The finish on both have the same feel, even though the Gibson is nitro and the Elitist is poly. The finish on my Elitist is so thin, the guitar feels almost like bare wood. Epi, or should I say Fujigen, did an amazing job on them.

I would love to get an Epi G-400 vintage series in black. ;)
