So, made the long trek to London today to visit The Clash Black Market Pop up shop in Soho. Well worth the visit imho - always been a huge fan since way back. Plenty of memorabilia, plus a lot of the bands equipment and stage wear etc. Gibson missed a trick too, as Fender had their own corner of the downstairs, where they let you play Clash numbers, order guitars and amps, and enter a competition to win a Bass, or Tele. Here is a bit of a collage I did with a few pics I took. At the bottom left is Paul Simonon's bass which was smashed on the front of the 'London Calling' album.

Looks really good. I'm presuming that's also Mick's old LP Jr and Joe's Tele that you've taken pics of. Fantastic!!! I think I may have to pay a visit while it's there and I'm only a short (40 min) train ride away. :)

cool. the Clash were a great band. great punk energy, lyrics and clever songwriting. i haven't heard everything from them but what i have heard is excellent. the bass is really cool. that album cover pretty much epitomizes PUNK!

Well worth the visit, yes all the guitars are there. I didn't take pics of Paul Simomon's other bass, and I forgot to take pics of Micks Gretsch, but I think I took the important stuff I have a load of other stuff too, but the best is in that collage. Dunno how Victor Meldrew ended up in the shot though (bottom right :laugh2:). Well worth going imho, and on until next Sunday.
