Contest Rules and Regulations

Official 2009 ETSG “Picture-this-SG” Contest Rules.

1. All entries must be submitted in the gallery by December 31st, 2009.

2. All pictures should be in a .jpg format.

3. You can be creative with the placement, decoration or location. You can use photo editing tools but this is NOT a requirement.

3. The picture MUST contain at least one SG. This can be an artistic rendering of an SG, a picture of your SG in a cool location or even you with your SG .

4. All pictures need to be uploaded into the Contest section of the Gallery. Images will be automatically posted in this section once approved. Any pictures posted by members directly in this section will be removed.

5. Decency standards include, but are not limited to the following:

a. No profanity or vulgarity in text or visual form may be included in the picture.
b. All pictures must adhere to the "for general audiences" standard.
c. Overt nudity is prohibited. Please use a "can you see it at the family beach" mindset.
d. Images containing or depicting unlawful acts or subject material will be rejected. Lawful is defined by what is lawful in the USofA.
e. Images containing copyright protected material (registered or common law copyright) will be rejected, and or removed - if found to be protected after being made public.

Images will be viewed by, and approved by the Admin before being made public. If your image is rejected, you can modify it and resubmit.

6. There will be a vote by the Forum membership beginning January 1st, 2010, and ending January 17, 2010. The winner will receive a BOSS SD-1 Super OverDrive Pedal that has been supplied by Roland and Sweetwater Music. The winner will be announced by January 22, 2010.

7. Additionally, the runner-up will receive a ETSG t-shirt.

8. The winner, the runner-up and those submitting images of merit will be showcased on the ETSG website.

9. Images submitted may be used by ETSG for its own self promotion at any future time.

10. Everyone is eligible except for the staff of ETSG.

11. Members can submit more than one picture but can only win one prize.

12. Questions about the contest can be posted in this section.

These rules may be modified as needed.

I went ahead and posted a pic to test it out. One thing that kinda confused me was in the categories, there wasn't one for the contest. So do people just post it in the regular members collections or are we going to set up a category for the contest so people can post up the pics there?

Just kicking the tires on the contest to make sure it works. Once I have it confirmed, I plan on putting some pics up just to try to get this thing rolling. We should have at least 100 pics on this thing and I am hoping for more than that!

Having a problem, when I go to select a category, the Contest category doesn't show up. Why is this?

The problem has been resolved. Lets see some artistic content out there!!

When you submit a picture, please come up with a unique title that we can easily reference in a poll. When people vote you want them to remember your picture.

Please also remember that there must be an SG Content in the pictures (see rule 3 (a))......... If they do not then I would see they would not be eligible.

Things are getting off to a slow start here. Remember, the winner gets a BOSS SD-1 Super Overdrive Pedal supplied by Roland and Sweetwater. I have this pedal in my possesion and it is new, in the box and just waiting to be shipped out to the winner.

Maybe it would be helpful to remind everyone of some of the past winners in our Photo Contests:

Many of these took quite some time to stage so they could get the perfect picture. Come on people let's see how creative you can be.

We are coming down to the wire on the contest. We have some really great entries. You only have a few more days to get those pictures in before the voting starts.

Just a suggestion for next time... give us more time. I'm using photos I already took. If I wanted to take ones specifically for this contest, I would need more time. That's just me though.

A month isn't enough time? How long does it take to take a picture?

I think a month is enough time to get it done. I'm already looking forward to the voting stage and to see who wins. Already some good photos out there so going to be fun to see who wins.

It just depends on what is important to you. I would think most people could find a few minutes or an hour in a months time to take and post a picture.
