Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has a powerblock? Are they good? worth it? I would be very grateful if someone could give me the rundown on them. I'm looking into buying one because of they're small size. Also, what cab would work best with it?

Thanks everyone! ;D

I don't own one but I saw a band with one. he used a Digitech pedal and the powerblock and he was amazing on a strat.
He was getting great blues tones and it rocked. I was thinking about getting one and then I saw the great tube God and he said "are you out of your freaking mind?"

Looked like an easy setup to carry and reliable if you are gigging. I am not gigging and want so much more than some POS silicon can deliver.
He was very good and must have weighed 280 pounds so he needed a roadie or a light setup...LOL

The strat looked too small for his body but OMG could the boy play.........He was really good......Walter Trout like in his blues.....

I have one that I run a custom made 1x12 cab. It really is a nice compact unit. One mono 150 watt rms @8ohm speaker out, or 2 stereo outs @ 75 w @4ohm. level control. CD input for jamalong, effects loop. Line out for direct input, you can run this thing right into a mixing console or PA. Yes it is fugly but it's a cool little unit and it comes with a carry case. I run a Digitech RP 200 and other effects with mine.

It was actually a sealed bass cab that needed work. I took out all the stuffing, repaired the cord jack, cut out half the back, covered it, added brass corners, casters, and a handle. The shop I bought it from thought the speaker (Altec 4178h series II) was blown. It turned out to be a big washer that was rattling against the cone! Score!

Jeez, what's that speaker rated at???

I was tempted by one of these, just to carry along as a backup, but none of my cabs could handle that kind of power, I think.

If you are worried about the speaker then just turn down the level on the back of the block. It's like an overall output control. 100 watts is the max power so if you have the level control around half way then it is most likely only pushing 25 watts.
