Well, call me lazy, but I couldn't find definite info on this...

I was just wondering what kind of wiring scheme, pots & caps were on SG specials from ca. 1961-64?
50s wiring I guess?

Well, the reason i'm asking is that I already did that on my epi 61 special, and I think the treble is a bit harsh :hmm: (it worked well with G400 though).

So I was just wondering if Gibbys had some other scheme back in the day.

I played a '64 SG junior and that P90 sounded much more 'humbucker-ish' than 'strat-like'...

Old Juniors used 250k for the tone pots

I had a 65 special and the set up was 500K log pots all round and a .47 tone cap.

Modern P90 SGs now favour 300K Linear Volume Pots.

I wasn't home long enough over the weekend to take any photos, but I will do my best this weekend. I have an original '62 SG Special wiring harness in one of the tool boxes. I'll get the specs and a couple of photos for you.

My time at home is often short and inconsistent.
