This comment from Tommy Tourbus also deserves a response:
"It's interesting how there's a correlation between how much a certain guitar is associated with heavy rock/metal and the intelligence of the people that play them."
So now we know. Playing a Les Paul imbues one with the IQ of Stephen Hawking whereas playing an SG means one is a mental retard.
I don't own a Les Paul but I do own a variety of other guitars so I can only assume that my mental capacity fluctuates with the guitar I happen to be playing, e.g. really low with the SGs, middling with the Gretsch (too many rockabilly timewarp associations I assume), higher with Telecasters, pretty good with say my jazzy Al Caiola and great when doing a bit of fingerpicking on acoustic.
Suffice to say that Mr Tourbus' own intelligence is apparent in his own utterances.
