Just curious. It seems all the SG control cavity plates I see are shaped like this:

Mine looks like this:

Any others out there like mine? Or could it have been routed on Friday PM or Monday AM, or……in someone’s basement? :ohno:

One of a kind. Could be a prototype or test bed guitar of some kind. I like it better than the usual shape, more organic.

Do prototypes generally get issued a serial #? I do recall when I purchased this used from the local music store in 2003 that the plate still had protective plastic on it.

I'm scratchin' my head, but how about more details, like pics of the whole guitar.

Headstock looks like typical Unsung placement of tuners. Does the serial # font look wonkie to anyone else?

Korean were known to be all over the place for specs. So it was with serial font too it seem. Here's the one on my 2003 Vintage G400, pretty much the same. But my 2004 is different ...

Around those years, Gibson Standard SGs used a similar control cavity.

Although, I noticed the '61 RIs from the same years did not.

Thanks for the photos, that brings back memories of my first g-400. Yours is unique with that cavity cut.

Did they have two factories going at the same time during 99 & 99? Mine is a 98 from the Saein factory. They also produced Shine branding for their own guitars.
