This may be the only boxed set that was released on vinyl, 8-track, cassette, and CD.

No javamagic, All Things Must Pass was not a box set. Great album though - it's really boss!

Three vinyl albums in a box (at least for the UK release). That certainly fits my definition of a box set. ;D
How about Mike Oldfield "Boxed" (Four albums - Tubular Bells, Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn plus a compilation of singles and stuff)?

  My information seems to have been faulty Javamagic about All Things Must Pass and I apologize. My info had been that the only box set released in all four formats was Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band Live/ 1975-1985.After thinking about it I'll bet there are more.

Your turn Javamagic!  :)

[Slightly off topic - with a wink]
Respect to understanding the term "box set" ... is there a difference between (a) a collection of individually released releases now being sold as bundle in a single box >click< and (b) a work spanning more than one piece of media (e.g. a triple LP) being sold in a single box >click<?

I guess they're both considered "Box Sets" but option a) seemed to have been the traditional box set.

This guitarist was born in England in 1945... and still tours with what's left of his band. He has two "middle" names... what is his full name?
