Hello,

I'm trying to get information on a white Gibson SG Custom* with 2 pickups only. Could anyone tell me if Gibson made this model awhile/ long time back? Did they have it only through the custom shop? I remember seeing one w/ 2 pickups but having block inlays. I don't think it's Elliot Easton's signature model because the one I saw was even before the custom shop came up with EE's sig but any information would be great.

Thanks in adv!.

Welcome to ETSG ryl417! :) :) :)

Gibson would have at least a twin pup in white in the Std and the Special. I'm we have some pix around here but someone else will remember where they are before I can........... The block or trap inlays could be the Standard.

Gibson did make some two pickup Les Paul SG Customs in the early sixties. There is a pic of LP holding one on an album cover from that period. My own Custom (assumed to be c.1965) also shows signs of originally having two pickups - the evidence being the ugly bit of routing done to take the centre pickup. It is also factory finished in black! I wonder how many two p/up Customs left the Kalamazoo factory in the early sixties? Does Walter Carter know? :?
