I just got a call from my sister saying my dad has taken my mama to the ER. She has been sick for 2 weeks with what she thought was a virus but may be alot worse. She has been throwing up since 2 today. I hope she is gonna be ok. I love my mama so much and dont know what I would do if something happened to her so I you guys would keep her in your prayers I would be so greatful.

Thanks ORF. Im sitting here in the shop at work waiting to hear back from my dad hopping it isnt bad news. One of my biggest fears is loosing my mama or dad. My granny died in 08 from diberticulitus (spelling?) and that is what scares me cause if that isnt caught in time it can be fatal.

Doc is sending her home with meds. She has a pretty nasty virus he says. I hope he is right. Serious stomache issues scare the crap out of me since I lost my granny in 08 and my daughters mothers mother died right after christmas from diberticulitus that went undetected. woke up with gangreen in her legs. She woke complaining her legs hurt real bad and when they looked at her legs atthe hospital they were black and crackeled like news paper. She died the next morning cause her body had gone septic. I really apprectiate the well wishes folks. I just fear the worst when things like this happen now that my parents have gotten older. Im 37 and my parents are in their late 50s so they are still young in a since but I still worry.

I know your concerns. I am 28 and my parents are 69 and 64. My dad had a heart attack last year which is what pushed him into retirement (finally) so you get twitchy about these things.

Viruses sure can be nasty, I hope she gets better soon.

Family is so important Neil. I lost my grandmother last night, and even though I hadn't seen her for 2 years (she lived in Switzerland), I spoke to her and wrote to her a few times a year.

Echo what everyone else has said. Life and family is a precious thing. My Mom died from cancer in 2001. She was 70. In Jan 2012 my youngest son's wife passed away rather suddenly due to an inoperable brain tumor we didn't even know existed. She was 29. So I most definitely know how both fragile life can be and how special family is.

Sorry to hear about your mother bro! My mum is already 82 years old and she suffered a broken neck when she fell down the stairs back in 2008. She is doing good now, but she is in a nursing home and suffers a bit of dementia. It's been a bit of a hard ride so I know how you feel. Hope things work out brother.
