Just signed the contract on the house. From March 4. we are the official owners. Now we just need to sell our appartment. That will probably be relatively smooth sailing.:h5:

Now, If only the guy selling the faded brown SG would answer my emails, I'd truly be a happy man. I've been trying to reach him for the last couple of days to no avail. Thankfully there are other ones on the market at similar prices, but I really liked the idea of those Seymour Duncan 59s...

The guy finally got back to me, but someone else had given him a higher offer than me, so I'm not getting the brown one with the SD 59s. However, I just found a 2008 Faded Worn Cherry with a case at just about the same price, so I'm going for that one. I prefer the cherry color, actually (however lacking in originality!). The guitar is bone stock, with 490T/R pickups. According to the great colonel, the 490T is not the greatest of pups, but, like he also always says, I will leave the stock pickups in for as long as it takes to get to know the guitar properly, and then I'll consider any mods. I'm really happy how this turned out! This guitar is simply a great bonus at the start of a promising year!

I have a 2010 faded cherry with 490t & 498r. It's great sounding guitar but I'm changing out the pcb board. I always put in pio caps too.

I'm expecting to get it tomorrow or the day after. Meanwhile, here are a couple of pics from the seller.

I think the 490T/490R pick-ups are great sounding...especially in a Les Paul guitar. I did a pick-up swap between my Gibson SG Special and my Epiphone LP Standard (awesome playing guitar) with Epi Classic humbuckers and now the sound in both guitars are very well-balanced. The 490's (Alnico II) have what it takes for that classic rock tone once the optimal pup height is achieved.

Same here, but I took her off my drummer's arms 40 so years ago. We didn't have any kids, didn't need to, still don't.
She says she has a teenager in the basement.

Picked the guitar up yesterday. A few dings and scratches, but that's fine. I definitely got what I payed for. It plays nicely, but the bridge was on backwards. I need a new set of strings, so that will be taken care of after work today. I haven't had the time to play it plugged, so I can't wait to get home! The neck is thicker than on my Derek Trucks, but slimmer than on my Lester Studio. I don't mind at all, it was just an interesting difference. I might try to make the neck a bit smoother (some really fine grit sandpaper, maybe?), but since I'm going to use it for slide almost exclusively, I don't think it really matters. Only a couple of pics so far, but at least they are a little bit better than the ones from the seller:

Great to hear. Looks like things are falling into a good place for you!!
My wife is tolerant but not really supportive of my guitar and guitar related hobbies.

I am hoping she doesn't beat me with the new neck I ordered. It should be there before I get home.

I do not think that you are lucky.... I think you made an excellent choice for a wife! No luck involved unless you just randomly proposed to a stranger that said yes. You sir are a blessed man, but by no means lucky concerning your wife. You made an assecment of her character and made a wise choice
