I got my .308 sighted in @ 750 yards of which I got the idea from OldRockFan .. n thats w/ iron sights... n thats on a 12"x 12" iron plate! But I got "taught " How to do it by a mentor who was E13! Problem is it's hard to find ammo anymore since it's usually sold out a 1/2 an hour after it's on the shelf! Even at Walmart! :dunno:

this neat little varmint rifle, a .17 hmr . Amazingly accurate out to about 150 yards

Yes sir, that's become quite popular here as well. They shoot all kinds of critters with that round now. I just can't get my head around such a small round. I like 'em big!

.17? Really...that is tiny. At least it sounds like a fair shot, small caliber, small game.

I had an M14 many years ago...That was one flat shooting s.o.b...A paint can full of water at 400 yds with the military sights was no problem. .308 is a hell of of a round.

So it seems.

That .30-06 Springfield rifle cartridge was good enough for two world wars between the M1903 Springfield and the 1936 M1 Garand.
